Can I import our guest list from a spreadsheet?
Last updated 17 October 2026
Yes. Import a CSV or Excel file with one row per person. We group people into households for you.
- Open Guests and press Import a list.
- Not sure of the layout? Press Download template (Excel) or Template as CSV.
- Choose your file. It stays on your computer until you press Import.
- 1. Where the List Is: pick the tab and the row with your headings. We usually find them for you.
- 2. What Each Column Is: match each column to a field, or choose Leave out. Household and First name are needed.
- 3. Check It: fix any rows marked to fix, or tick Leave out for them.
- Press Import … rows.
Good to know:
- Files can be .csv or .xlsx. Save .xls or Numbers files as .xlsx or .csv first.
- Up to 500 rows per import.
- No Household column? We suggest each person's surname.
- If anything needs fixing, nothing is imported until it's fixed.
- A blank cell never wipes what's already saved.
- To update people, export your guest list, edit it and import it again. The Guest ID column tells us who is who. A list without Guest IDs adds everyone again as new people.
- We remember your column choices in this browser for next time.

More in Guests and households
- How do I add guests?
Add one household at a time, with everyone in it named. A household is the people who share an invitation, like a couple or a family.
- How do I find a guest or see who's waiting?
Use the filters and the search box on Guests.
- How do I add children or plus-ones?
Add children to their family's household and tick Child (under 16). There are no unnamed plus-ones: add every guest by name.
- A guest's link was shared by mistake. What do I do?
Give them a new link. The old one stops working straight away.
- How do I get our list into Excel?
Open Replies and use Export to Excel. Every list comes as Excel or CSV.
