Terms of use
Last updated 17 October 2026
The short version
- You pay once per wedding. No subscription. Nothing renews.
- Your site is hidden on your selected date, 3 to 24 months after the wedding, then deleted seven days later. Missed reminders and safe processing retries can delay deletion.
- You can get your first payment for a wedding back within 14 days, no questions asked, before the earlier applicable wedding midnight. Upgrades are final once paid, unless you get that first payment back. See our refund policy.
- Your Australian Consumer Law rights always apply. Nothing in these terms takes them away.
- You own your content. You are responsible for it, for your guest list, for your own domain and for what your site tells guests.
- Texts to guests use prepaid credits. Sending ends when your wedding is deleted. Paid credit packs are non-refundable except as required by Australian law; existing refund rights remain. Free credits have no cash value. You must have each guest's permission to text them.
- Keep your own copy of anything that matters. Our backups are limited.
- Be kind to your guests and to the service.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Apptractive Pty Ltd (ABN 37 627 379 800), which runs yourwedding.app. "We" and "us" mean Apptractive. "You" means the person accepting these terms, including an invited member when they accept for themselves. The owner controls the wedding and its membership. A nominated messaging coordinator has only inbox access. Your acceptance does not bind other guests, photographers or regulators, or protect anyone from liability for their own conduct.
By creating an account, you agree to these terms and our privacy policy. The studio shows this when you sign up and records which version you agreed to. If we change these terms in a way that matters, the studio asks you to agree to the new version before you carry on.
Guests who reply through a personal link do not need an account, and these terms are not a contract with them. The one exception is a guest who adds photos or videos: the short section "If you are a guest" applies to what they add. Our privacy policy applies to every guest's information.
Who can use yourwedding.app
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must be able to enter a contract.
- Give us accurate sign-in and payment details.
- Planners and other businesses can hold accounts. If you use yourwedding.app for a business, you confirm you have authority to agree to these terms for that business.
Planners and other businesses
If you build a wedding for a client:
- You act for your client. Make sure they agreed to you building their wedding site.
- You take on the guest list duties below for their guests.
- Our responsibility to a business is limited, as "Limits on our responsibility" explains.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in details safe. Turn on two-step sign-in if you can.
- You are responsible for your own conduct and the access you authorise, to the extent attributable to you. This does not make you responsible for our security failures or every unauthorised account compromise.
- Members. You can invite one other person to help manage your wedding, such as your partner or a planner. Members can see and change everything about the wedding, including guest details and replies. Only the person who created the wedding can delete it. Only invite someone you trust.
- Reply emails. Each member gets an email when guests reply, unless they choose a daily summary or none in Settings. These emails include everything in the reply, including dietary needs. Keep your inbox secure. Turn them off if other people can read your email.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.
Plans and prices
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | A$0 | Every page of your site except Photos, up to 5 guests, a "Preview" ribbon. No invitation or photo emails to guests. |
| Wedding | A$229 | Your whole guest list, invitation emails, texts to guests: credits from A$19 for 200, guests' photos and videos, all styles, one own domain. |
| Pro | A$299 | Everything in Wedding, plus connecting your own Claude or ChatGPT, and 100 text credits. |
- Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
- A plan is for one wedding. A second wedding needs its own plan.
- You pay once. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
- You can move from Wedding to Pro by paying the difference (currently A$70). An upgrade is final once paid, apart from your Australian Consumer Law rights. If you get your first payment back under our money-back guarantee, we refund the upgrade too.
- Your plan lasts until your wedding is deleted under our retention rules (see below). We do not keep sites up forever.
- We may change prices for new purchases. A price change never affects a plan you have already paid for.
Paying
- Payments go through Stripe. Stripe's terms also apply to the payment.
- We charge in Australian dollars. Your bank may add its own fees for an overseas card.
- Stripe emails you a receipt for each payment.
- Your plan starts once Stripe confirms the payment.
How long your wedding stays up
- Your wedding is hidden 3, 6, 12 or 24 months after your wedding date, then its guest details and media are deleted seven days later. You choose in the studio. The default is 24 months.
- An unused free wedding is hidden after six months without sign-in and deleted seven days later.
- We email you before any deletion: 30, 14, 7 and 3 days before for a wedding, and 14, 7 and 3 days before for an unused free wedding. After that the site is hidden for 7 days, and you can undo it in that week.
- Export your guest list and replies, and download your photos and videos, before then if you want to keep them.
- You can delete your wedding yourself at any time. Deletion cannot be undone once it starts. We first stop new purchases and sends, reconcile outstanding activity and preserve unused paid text value; unresolved activity or processing failures can delay completion.
Backups and lost data
- We back up wedding and guest details for up to 35 days. Backups are there to recover the service after a fault. We can't use them to bring back one wedding you deleted, or one deleted under our retention rules.
- When a photo or video is deleted or replaced, we keep the earlier copy for 30 days, so we can recover it after a mistake. After 30 days it's gone for good.
- When a whole wedding is deleted, by you or under our retention rules, we remove its stored media copies, with retries if needed. Completed deletion cannot be reversed; copies already downloaded or received by others are outside our control.
- So keep your own copies. Export your guest list and replies from time to time, and especially in the week of your wedding. Download the photos and videos you want to keep.
Your own domain
On a paid plan you can connect one domain you own, like ellaandjames.com.
- You buy and renew the domain yourself, with any registrar. It is not included in the price.
- You are responsible for the domain: its registration, renewal, DNS records and anything else it is used for, such as email.
- You must have the right to use it. It must not use someone else's name or trade mark without their permission.
- We set up a secure certificate for it. You add the DNS records we show you.
- If your domain lapses, your registrar has a problem, or the DNS records change, your site may stop showing on that domain. Your yourwedding.app address keeps working.
- When your wedding is deleted, or moves back to Free after a refund, the domain is disconnected. You can then point it elsewhere.
Your content and your guests
Your content
You own what you add: your words, details, questions, photos and choices. You give us permission to store, copy, display and send it, and to show it to your members and guests, only as needed for us and our necessary service providers to run your wedding site and keep the disclosed backups. This is not a licence for AI training, marketing or perpetual public use. This permission ends when your content is deleted, apart from backups that expire on their own. We do not use your content to advertise yourwedding.app without asking you first.
You confirm your content:
- is yours to use, or you have permission
- is not misleading, defamatory, hateful or unlawful
- does not break anyone else's rights, including their privacy
What your site tells guests is up to you. Dates, times, venues, travel, places to stay, dress codes and links all come from you. Guests rely on them. Check them, and keep them up to date.
Your guest list
You add your guests' details, so you have some responsibilities:
- Only add people you are actually inviting.
- Only add details you are allowed to give us. In practice, that means details your guests gave you, or would expect you to use to invite them to your wedding.
- Only add an email or mobile you have a good reason to have. Mark anyone under 16 as a child, and never add an email or mobile for them. A parent or guardian replies for them through the household's link.
- Only ask questions you need answers to.
- Tell guests, if they ask, that you use yourwedding.app. Every invitation says so too.
- When you record a reply for a guest, including dietary needs, make sure the guest actually agreed.
- Look after anything you export, and any reply emails in your inbox. Share dietary lists only with people who need them, like your caterer.
We handle guest details as our privacy policy says. We never sell them, market to guests or show them ads. Your duties above don't reduce what the privacy law asks of us.
Guests' photos and videos
On Wedding and Pro, guests can add photos and videos to your wedding's album through their personal link.
- A photo belongs to whoever took it. Adding it to the album doesn't change that.
- You give us permission to store, copy, show and send the photos and videos you add, only as needed to run your album, slideshow and downloads, and to keep backups. Guests give the same permission for what they add (see "If you are a guest"). Guests see, beside the Add button, that everyone at the wedding can see what they add.
- Only add photos you have the right to share. If you share your photographer's photos, check your agreement with them allows it.
- Before you share photos of other people, make sure they'd be happy for your guests to see them. Take extra care with photos of children.
- You can hide any photo. Guests can delete their own. A guest's report hides a photo straight away.
- If a guest's photo or video looks wrong to you, or someone asks you to take it down, hide it. Hide it straight away if it may break the law or someone's rights.
- The fair use rules below apply to photos and videos too. We may remove one that breaks them, or that we're told breaks the law or someone's rights.
- The album is deleted with your wedding's guest details, under our retention rules.
Texts to guests
On Wedding and Pro you can send invitations and wedding updates to guests by text. Texts go to Australian mobiles only.
Credits
- One credit sends one text part. A part holds up to 160 plain characters, or 153 each when a text needs more than one. Emoji and some special characters cut that to 70, or 67 each.
- Every text includes your names, how to reply, how to stop texts and hello@yourwedding.app for support. Those words count too. Before you send, the studio shows who gets what and exactly how many credits it uses. Nothing is sent until you confirm. A text can use at most 10 parts.
- Pro comes with 100 credits. On Wedding and Pro you can buy more in the studio, in packs of 200, 500 or 1,000. The studio shows the price before you pay.
- Credits are used when our text provider accepts a text. If it refuses one, the credit comes back. A text that is accepted but not delivered to the phone still uses its credit, apart from your Australian Consumer Law rights.
- Credits don't expire while your wedding is live. They belong to one wedding and can be used only while it is on Wedding or Pro.
- Paid credit packs are non-refundable for change of mind, unused credits, cancellation, postponement or wedding/account deletion, except where Australian law requires otherwise. They are outside the voluntary plan guarantee. Buy only what you expect to use. Any earlier purchase-specific commitment or accrued refund right is preserved.
- Deletion ends sending. We retain available unused-value and payment records to assess lawful claims after deletion; those records do not themselves create a refund entitlement. We use free credits first and then paid packs oldest first.
- Free and bonus credits, including Pro's 100 credits, have no cash value and end at deletion.
- If we cannot supply paid texts or close the service, we assess and provide the remedies Australian law requires. The non-refundable rule does not exclude those remedies.
- Refunds and chargebacks. A plan refund affects the plan under our refund policy; a text-pack refund or dispute affects only that pack and never downgrades your wedding. Approved cash refunds are processed manually; an amount recorded as due is not a completed payment. The refund policy also explains payment disputes and the limited recovery of costs caused by fraud or knowingly false claims.
The shared number and the wedding inbox
- Texts come from a yourwedding.app number shared by many weddings, not from your own phone.
- Guests' replies arrive in your wedding's private inbox. A guest who has had texts from more than one wedding must start their reply with your wedding's code. We hold a reply we can't match safely to one wedding for 7 days, then delete it. You may never see it.
- A guest who replies STOP gets no more texts from that number, for any wedding. Neither you nor we can override that.
- You can name one coordinator, such as your planner, to read the inbox and reply by text. They sign in with their own email and can't see the rest of your wedding. Their replies use your credits. You are responsible for who you choose. Get their permission first.
Your duties when you text
You are the sender of what your texts say. We carry them, add your names and the reply and stop words, and keep a record.
- Only text a recipient who, or whose authorised user, already agreed to receive these wedding texts at the relevant number. Keep who agreed, when and how. Importing a number or ticking our checkbox does not obtain permission or transfer your legal duties to us. For an invitation, the studio asks you to confirm you have their permission. Updates go only to guests who agreed to texts.
- Never text a guest under 16. Don't add their mobile.
- Texts must be about your wedding. Don't use them to advertise or sell anything, including a planner's own services.
- Keep sender details accurate. Do not use purchased lists, harass anyone, send unlawful content, bypass STOP or hide who the texts are from. A shared-number STOP affects every wedding using that number.
If you are a guest
You don't need an account to reply, and replying doesn't make you agree to these terms. This section applies only if you add photos or videos to a wedding's album.
- What you add stays yours.
- By adding it, you let us store it and show it to the couple and the wedding's guests, in the album, the slideshow and downloads, until the wedding's details are deleted. The couple can download a copy and keep it. If the couple allows it, other guests can save or share a copy too.
- Only add photos and videos you took, or are allowed to share. Check that the people in them would be happy for the wedding's guests to see them.
- Don't add anything unlawful, sexual, violent, hateful or meant to hurt someone.
- You can delete what you added. The couple can hide it. We may remove it if it breaks this section or the law.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
Your AI assistant (Pro)
On Pro you can connect your own Claude or ChatGPT.
- You choose read only, or read and write. You can change it or disconnect at any time.
- Your assistant can never send invitations, take payments, delete your wedding, or change your plan, retention or members.
- Guest information your assistant reads goes to that AI company. Your own agreement with that company covers what it does with it. Their own terms govern their processing, without excluding our responsibility for our own service or mandatory rights.
- AI assistants make mistakes. Check what yours adds or changes. Every action is in your studio's activity log for 90 days.
- You are responsible for what your assistant does with the permission you gave it.
Maps
Maps in the studio use Google Maps. Using them means you agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Fair use
Please don't:
- send invitations to people you don't know, or use yourwedding.app to send advertising or spam
- use yourwedding.app for anything other than a wedding or a wedding-related event, such as an engagement, a vow renewal or an elopement party
- collect information from guests that you don't need, or that you know they wouldn't want to share
- try to get into another couple's wedding, guess personal links, or get around the guest limit, plan limits or security
- overload, scrape, copy or reverse-engineer the service
- break the law, or anyone's privacy, copyright or other rights
If an email bounces or a guest marks it as spam, we stop sending to that address.
Removing content and pausing weddings
We may hide or remove content, or pause a wedding's site or its emails, if:
- it seems to break these terms or the law
- someone tells us it breaks their rights, such as their copyright or privacy, and the complaint looks genuine
- a guest reports a photo or video (it is hidden straight away, and you can look at it)
- we need to, to protect guests, other couples or the service, or because the law or an authority requires it
We act on notices from the eSafety Commissioner. We act in proportion to the problem. Where we reasonably can, we tell you first, explain why and give you a chance to fix it or reply. If it's urgent, we act first and tell you as soon as we can. If we got it wrong, we put things back.
What the service does
We provide wedding software, not event organisation, catering, an emergency channel, a guaranteed archive or a guarantee of a successful wedding. Check names, dates, addresses, recipients, dietary details and AI output. Confirm critical arrangements directly with the guest or supplier. These responsibilities do not remove our duty to provide our advertised service with appropriate care or your mandatory guarantees.
Availability and changes
- We work hard to keep yourwedding.app running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Email providers, phone networks and the internet are outside our control.
- We can't promise every email reaches every guest. A guest's email provider can filter, delay or reject an email. The studio shows which invitations bounced. Check who hasn't replied, and follow up another way.
- We may need short pauses for maintenance. We will try to avoid your wedding week.
- We improve yourwedding.app over time. We won't remove a main feature of a plan you have paid for while your wedding is live, unless we have to for legal or security reasons, or, for your AI assistant, a provider we rely on stops supporting it. If we do, we will tell you and offer a fair remedy, which may include a partial refund.
Our property
yourwedding.app, its styles, drawn scenes, fonts and code belong to us or our licensors. You can use them only for your wedding site while it is live. Feedback you send us, we may use to improve the service, without paying you.
Your consumer rights
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure with the service, you are entitled to cancel and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service fixed in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel and get a refund for the unused portion.
Nothing in these terms limits those rights or any other right you have under law that can't be excluded. The next two sections are read subject to them.
Limits on our responsibility
These limits don't apply to the consumer guarantees above, to loss caused by our fraud or deliberate wrongdoing, or to anything else the law does not let us limit. Apart from those:
- Our total responsibility to you for a wedding is limited, in aggregate across ordinary claims and legal causes of action, to all actual plan and text-pack payments for that wedding, or A$100 if nothing was paid. Later refunds do not reduce that cap. Payments and recovery for the same loss are not counted twice. Loss affecting several weddings is attributed to the affected weddings, not subject to a new account-wide A$100 cap.
- Business losses. We are not responsible for lost profits, revenue, business or opportunity. This mostly matters to planners and other businesses.
- Loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Their own terms govern their processing, without excluding our responsibility for our own service or mandatory rights.
- Things others control. We are not responsible for loss caused only by:
- a guest's or your own email provider filtering, delaying or rejecting an email
- your domain, your registrar or your DNS provider
- Stripe, your bank or your card provider
- our text provider or a mobile network delaying, filtering or not delivering a text, where we took reasonable care
- an outage at a provider we use, such as Amazon Web Services, where we chose and used it with reasonable care
- your AI company, or what your assistant does with the permission you gave it
- photos, videos or other content added by guests, unless we failed to act on a report as these terms say
- information on your site that you or your members got wrong
- what you or your members do with guest details after you export them, or once a reply email reaches your inbox
- things outside our reasonable control
External-event limits apply only to the extent the external event caused the loss despite our reasonable care and mitigation. There is no blanket exclusion of data loss, negligence, distress, security failures or third-party claims, and required remedies remain available. Within the lawful limits above, we are responsible for loss caused by our own negligence or breach of these terms.
If someone makes a claim because of your content
You agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable legal costs, from a claim someone else makes against us, to the extent the claim comes from:
- content you or members you actually authorise add, to the extent attributable to you, that breaks these terms, the law or someone's rights
- guest details you gave us without the right to, or a breach of "Your guest list" above
- a domain you connect without the right to use it
- texts you send without the guest's permission, or that break the Spam Act or the text rules above
- a guest's photo or video that you kept showing after a report, or after we told you it may break the law or someone's rights
This targeted indemnity is uncapped; the cap on our responsibility does not cap it. It covers actual reasonable loss and defence costs, not penalties the law does not allow to be shifted. It does not make you strictly liable for all guests or every account compromise. This doesn't cover any part of a claim caused by us, by our negligence or by our breach of these terms. We will tell you about the claim promptly, take reasonable steps to keep the loss down, and not agree to a settlement imposing an admission, payment or other obligation on you without your agreement. A delay in notice affects recovery only to the extent it prejudices your position.
Ending things
You can stop at any time. Delete your wedding under Settings in the studio. Then delete your sign-in account there too, or email us to do it. Our money-back guarantee covers your first payment for a wedding, within 14 days and before the earlier applicable wedding midnight. Paid text packs are non-refundable except where Australian law requires otherwise or an earlier refund entitlement applies. Other remedies include the changed-terms and service-closure processes below and any greater mandatory legal remedy. A refunded wedding goes back to Free, as our refund policy explains.
We may suspend or close an account, or a wedding, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we must for legal or security reasons. Unless it's urgent, we will tell you first, explain why and give you a chance to fix it. Where we can, we'll give you time to export your guest list. If we close an account through no fault of yours, we will refund a fair share of what you paid.
If we plan to close yourwedding.app, we will give reasonable notice, aiming for at least 30 days, and a chance to export available guest data and media. We will assess affected paid services, including unused paid texts, and provide the remedies required by law or an earlier commitment. Unexpected provider failures do not remove our own care and mitigation duties.
Recommendations and affiliate links
We may recommend services or include affiliate links in our marketing website, customer areas or permitted customer marketing. We identify paid or affiliate relationships near the recommendation. We may earn a commission if you buy or sign up through a link. The third-party service has its own contract and privacy terms; we remain responsible for our own representations and any obligations the law places on us. See our privacy policy for information handling and marketing choices.
Problems and disputes
Please email hello@yourwedding.app first. We will try to sort it out within a reasonable time. If we can't, you can contact your state or territory consumer protection agency, or take it to a court or tribunal.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. You and we can bring a dispute in the courts of New South Wales, or any other Australian court or tribunal that has jurisdiction. This doesn't stop you using a consumer tribunal or court where you live. If you live outside Australia, it doesn't take away consumer rights you have there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you by email or in the studio, and the studio asks you to agree to it. A material adverse change applies to you only when you expressly accept it; continued silence is not acceptance. A change never applies to a payment you made before it, unless it benefits you or you agree to it.
If you decline a material adverse change, use Export your data from the terms screen without accepting. You can export permitted guest data and download available media. Verified email support is available if you cannot access it; completed deletion cannot be reversed. Email us for an assessment of the affected paid service remaining and unused paid texts. We provide the calculation in writing, agree the remedy before closing access, and preserve any greater legal remedy. A once-off plan is not automatically valued pro rata by days. We retain each accepted version and server timestamp until account deletion; policy history remains in our records. The date at the top identifies this version.
General provisions
An invalid provision is severed only to the extent necessary; the rest continues where lawful. A delay in exercising a right is not a waiver. Accrued refund rights, lawful liability provisions and obligations necessary to resolve existing claims survive closure. We may lawfully assign the service with notice and without materially reducing your protections. These terms do not erase actionable sales promises or mandatory rights. We record suspension and complaint reasons and review them on request.
